The Branch has a new Home, The Penthouse Suite.  Thanks to the hard work of The Estate Management Team, our own Troop of helpers and help from the Lads of the Barracks, the New Club House was officially opened for business on June 13th 2009.  We now have the space that we have needed for a long time.  Since the 'Grand Opening' we have had an influx of new members.  We are now getting more Serving Members joining the fold.  Being situated, as we are, a few steps from the S.NC.O's Mess we have regular visits from there members(when they are here!.  We have the space to be able to run social events 'In House'.
There is a dart board, table tennis table and pool available for members.  For those who do not fancy alcoholic drinks!!! there are facilities for making tea or coffee.  So we are on the way to making our 'New Club' a new 'Home' as well.

AGM

Wednesday14th April 2010

This is our New Year, as it were. The AGM is the time we get ready for the year ahead and regroup. This AGM saw Tom Smith our secretary stepped down from his position. His place has been taken up by Mike New he has a lot to live up to but is ready and able to do the job. Vi Penberthy also stepped down from the Committee

Gary our Chairman stated that he would be happy to remain in his post for the next year, then he would like to pass the Chairmanship on.

This past year has been a little on the busy side due to our move from 'The Railway Carriage', as it has been called to the much larger Penthouse Suit, which is more like a first class lounge than a Club Room thanks to all the work and effort put in by 'The Workers'. Next month will be the First Anniversary of the move, work is still being done to improve the Penthouse, but as with all things we will get there.

Our membership continues to grow which can only be a good sign, we are close with the SNCO's Mess and visit each other on a fairly regular basis. This is also a good way of getting the RMA across to those still in the Corps, we have had a few SNCO's become members. With luck they may pass the word on to the rest of the lads over a sandbag, on a cold night!!!

Our President, Col Cox, talked of the changes within the Corps and the continuing lack of funds available to the Corps even down to the lack of funds to provide transport to get sports teams to events. So with money being tight for the Corps it will be harder for the RMA's as well. We can look to the next year as being another challenge, we have realized that we need to start to run the RMA Plymouth & District more like a business. We have to have funds put aside to cover unforeseen events.
